Jennifer Ellis West is an English instructor and PhD student in Writing and Culture at Louisiana State University. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Mississippi College. After brief stints as a waitress, floral designer, magazine editor, and seventh grade teacher, she finally feels at home nurturing the reading and writing abilities of undergraduate college students. Originally from Clinton, MS, Jennifer currently lives in Baton Rouge with her husband David, her daughter Josie, and her cats Chester and Matilda. When not teaching, writing, or researching, she can often be found in her backyard, reading, or in her kitchen, cooking.
